Role Summary
We are looking for a seasoned Head of Product Engineering to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable banking products. This role requires a unique blend of deep engineering expertise and strong product mindset, driving innovation across digital banking, lending, payments, and core banking platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Product & Strategy Leadership
  • Define and drive the product engineering strategy aligned with business goals
  • Partner with Product Management to translate vision into scalable technical solutions
  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle
  • Drive customer-first thinking, ensuring superior user experience
    
    
• Engineering Leadership
  • Lead large, high-performing engineering teams
  • Architect and oversee development of cloud-native, API-first banking platforms
  • Establish robust engineering governance, code quality, and performance standards
    
    
• Banking Domain Expertise
  • Drive solutions across:
    • Core Banking
    • Lending (Corporate)
  • Work with legacy modernization and core system integrations
    
    
• Stakeholder Management
  • Collaborate with CXOs, Product Heads, Business Leaders, and Clients
  • Act as a technology advisor for strategic initiatives
  • Manage vendor ecosystems and third-party platforms
    
    
• Innovation & Transformation
  • Leverage emerging technologies like AI/ML, Open Banking APIs, Blockchain (optional)
  • Drive agile and product-led engineering culture.
    

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience
  • 15 – 20+ years in engineering, with 5+ years in leadership roles
  • Strong background in product engineering (not just project delivery)
  • Proven experience in banking or financial services domain
    
    
• Technical Expertise
  • Strong experience in:
    • Java / Spring Boot/React or similar enterprise stacks
    • API ecosystems & integration frameworks
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Data architecture & security
    • High-availability and scalable systems
      
      
• Product Mindset
  • Experience working closely with product managers and business teams
  • Ability to balance customer needs, business priorities, and technical feasibility
  • Exposure to product KPIs, roadmaps, and user journeys
    
    
• Leadership Skills
  • Proven ability to build, scale, and mentor engineering teams
  • Strong decision-making and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in Agile, SAFe, or product-led delivery models
    

Good to Have
Experience with banking platforms
MBA or advanced degree in Technology/Management
Proven experience in deployment and release management.
